Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

They charge the basic membership fee plus a (significant) fee for not being a member in a breakdown situation0

No idea how much but I expect at least a couple of ton.
Why not just get cover from AutoAid ?0 -
Most, if not all end up charging you between £120 and £150.0

The £80 or so annual fee for the AA gets you all the way home, as with the on the road-side recovery it will probably be per mile.0

If you breakdown on a Motorway, some Police forces have a policy of clearing broken down vehicles asap and will send out their approved contractor to remove you off the motorway - normally to the nearest services or layby off a motorway junction - for which you'll be charged a princely sum. At least with joining the AA/RAC at a high rate means that you have 1 year of cover to fall back on.The man without a signature.0

I had to join the Rac @ the side of the road a few years ago and it was about £120 all in.0

I heard on the radio recently that it was quite common for the Police to contact their own contractors even if the driver had cover and had contacted them...
The kickbacks must be worth a few quid.0 -
Going aside a little bit my AA Roadside and recovery is up about a weeks time costing £112 paid by continous payment. I rang them saying that I was going to cancel and migrate to the RAC, instantly the price went down to £73 same as RAC.0
