hi
i recently opened an halifax online isa and it appears on my accounts page along with my reward current account. But when i go into the isa account and click transfer, it gives me the option to transfer from my current + nominated acc (nt sure what this is) to both of these accounts, and the isa account isnt listed. So i cant transfer money into it from current account or outside accounts!
anyone had this problem, how did they resolve it?
thanks

It doesn't matter which account you click on first. If you then click on the 'transfer' button, you go to a window with pull-down menus for both 'from' and 'to'. So have you tried going to your current a/c first, then clicking 'transfer'?
Btw a nominated a/c in my experience is a current a/c in bank X linked to a savings a/c in bank Y. You can get cash into and out of the saving a/c only from/to the nominated a/c. Did you link your Hfx ISA to an a/c in some other institution?
yes i did my hsbc one...maybe cos i only opened account last week its not been processed yet? how long did it take u?0 -

I think I know what the problem is.
If you want to transfer money into the ISA account from your Halifax Current Account, you go into the current account and click transfer, and it should give you the option of transferring money into your ISA.
Does this help? (apologies if I have misunderstood)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Or even easier, just click the 'Quick Transfer' link at the top of the main screen.
The current account and ISA should both appear in the drop-down boxes. If they don't, then it probably means they haven't received the signed application form from you.0 -

Also, quite often if you're funding your ISA for the first time, you have to call them up and do it over the telephone so they can make sure you're aware of the ISA terms and conditions set out, (not funding more than 1 ISA in a tax year etc).
Use this callback service http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/savingscallback.asp so you don't have to pay for the call, and they'll be able to transfer the money for you straight away.0 -

I opened my Hfx ISA with money from another Hfx a/c, so it was more straightforward.
It doesn't matter what 'nominated' account you have, you can pay the money into, and out to any account with any bank, no problem.0
