barclaycard application

I am in the process of applying for a barclaycard. I'm a little confused as it asks for my income details which total £13000 which is made up of wages from pt job and tax/child tax credits. It asks for my employers details, but how the form reads, it will look to them like all my income is from my job. I'm concerned that if they ring my employers it will look like I'm doing something dodgy!! Can anyone assist me with this please?

I asked the online advisor, who confirmed I should include the tax credits in my total income. My application was successful so I assume they won't be contacting my employer anyway so there shouldn't be any confusion.

Still keep an eye out. Successful applicants have reported their Barclaycard acct closed down w/out notice after approval and sending out a card.

Strange! When I've previously asked card providers (albeit not Barclaycard) about CTC and child benefit I was always told we couldn't include them.

Oh well, it's done now and you can easily prove your income if they ask.

Besides, your employer can't legally tell Barclaycard your salary without breaching the data protection act. The most card companies ever do when calling employers is verify you work there -as employers can't release any information about employees without that employees express consent. Data protection.
