Poor fella couldn't stop asking me questions.....
"With cheese or without?"
"Diet or regular coke?"
"Would you like fries with that?"
Hamish, he wasn't asking you questions, that was part of your induction course. Those were the things you should have asked the customers, if you had have done, you might have not been fired.*
*This was a slightly comedic comment, and I would never be patronising to anyone who worked in any fast food outlet, or indeed in any other workplace. I'm sure "Mr Big-McTavish" would end up with extra "relish" if his views were known prior to ordering his Big Whopper and Fries.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. It's like watching a room full of bald men fighting over a comb.
It does have a certain comedy value.Been away for a while.0 -
You're double hard, right Jimmy? I bet you could smash his face in, GRRRR.
No not really i just cannot stand people like hamish due to having to deal with them in my line of work, i also do not think im superior to somebody who works in a job that is deemed to be a worthless job by hamish and people like him, i also think people who work in jobs that are the butt of hamishes jokes should be entitled to buy a home (hamish doesnt).
How somebody can put people down who are out there everyday working to earn a living is beyond me. I have been treated the same in the past by some of the customers i have done work for, they think being a carpenter is a very menial job (i dont think my job has anymore respect attached to it than any other job, its just a job at the end of the day).. so speak to me like i am something they have stepped in and when i ask them to stop speaking to me like im a piece of !!!!!! they seem so so shocked that somebody so lowly as me has pulled them up on their attitude, what happens next depends on if the customer can bring themselves to apologise or not, if they dont apologise then no i dont give em a good kicking, i just leave and leave the house in whatever state it is in.
Its always the ones rolling in money who think they have hired a slave
Thankfully my self respect means more to me than money so its no problem for me to pack up my tools and walk away from a half finished job and leave the customer with the hassle of finding another carpenter to finish my work, and not one of the carpenters i know like finishing other peoples work so will price the job in the hope of not getting it and 9 times out of 10 they still get the job and the snotty customer will end up paying over the odds to get the job finished.
Seeing as its friday i might nip down the chippy and get my usual, dont worry hamish ill be sure to give the girl behind the counter a good solid slap for working hard and earning less than she deserves.0 -

Just say it. You think you are better than him.
You think you have a larger member, and are going to tell anyone who doesn't mind it being waved in their face at any given opportunity....
the annoying !!!! guy who sometimes wafts into our office was in today. blurting some nonsense about how he was an alpha male. i quietly thought to myself: "if you need to announce you are an alpha male, you're not an alpha male."Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

Why have the bulls descending this thread into a massive arguement?????
I wanted to have some serious discussion, but the bulls were quick to come in and abuse me, geener, fox and jimmy.
Its a clear sign they have lost the arguement when they have to resort to such abuse.

I don't know if they have lost the argument or not, but the bulls behaviour often seems to include delivering abuse. I think that just reflects the characters that some of them are. Looking after No. 1 and simply ignoring/dismissing/patronising everyone else.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Oh get real Blankie. You start a thread entitled "property bulls disgust me, selfish people" with a rather nasty attack on a whole group of people, and then throw a pompous hissy one when people come back at you and the terribly sensitive Geneer in similar terms. It's laughable really.
But since you're here, why not explain who is "championing" rental increases. They've been explained in supply and demand terms, but "bulls" don't cause or champion them. If you understand why they happen you have a chance of figuring out what is likely to happen to the housing market if we don't build more houses, which very many "bulls" have been advocating for years.0 -
Funniest juxtaposition ever reallyBears - follow my lead and dont sink to their level. I always stay polite because I know I can win the academic arguementAnyone wanting a return to this situation where rents drive up house prices, which then drives up rent, which then drives up house prices, which then drive up rent etc etc etc... is SCUM.
Basically they want a return to the 16th century when the landed classes just have a monopoly on property and the hard working talented people cant get into it.
The vicious cirlce outlined above is championed by most of the selfish, vested interest bulls on this board, and it disgusts me.0 -
