I joined world of books a year ago coz they were offering 1p books. Little did I know that catch was to buy 4 books for exorbitant fees

so I did order 1 book which I then paid

second delivery they sent 4 books which I paid coz I thought I could cancel my membership then so I then paid for it. But when I tried cancelling it, they said that this 4 books sent can only be counted only as "1" towards my membership commitment as these are set of books(?).

Two months ago, I then ordered 2 more books. So all in all I got 6 books and account paid in full. Called them and cancelled the membership plus I emailed them to cancel it.
I got an acknowledgement email.


Then this morning I got two more books on my posts and they were charging me £30 for this two. I got really annoyed and crossed.

I agree. This company is very difficult to deal with. Many years ago I was a member for a couple of years but when I cancelled my membership they kept sending me books which I sent back but still kept receiving bills for them.

Eventually, I wrote and told them we were emigrating and that stopped it but I doubt that would work now that everything is computerised.

How It Works?

When you join the club, you agree to buy at least a further 4 books in your first year of membership.

Read the first post again - 4 books sent as one delivery counts as only 1 book, because they are a set.

and those 4 books are not related with each other in a way.
