Hi all, i am looking for a bit of advice please, we entered an IVA in oct 2008, but i was made redundant march 2009, so dawson white (the company i went into IVA with) told me i had to use £10,000 of my redundancy money to settle the iva, which i agreed too, i then received confirmation that all my creditors agreed to the payment, i then received a letter informing me that my iva was settled, but 2 years on i am still being harassed by all my creditors, i have been on to my insolvency practitioners but they tell me they can not do anything now as they are no longer authorized, can anyone please advise,
thank you in advance!!!

Hi
If all you creditors agreed to the settlement , then as I am aware they have no right to now to pursue you for rest if your debts with them were included in the iva.
One way I would check is probably via Experian or Equifax with your credit report(costs £2) and see if they marked your accounts as settled.
If they haven't then I would send them a copy of your discharge letter and request them to amend your credit file.
I have been in a similar situation and this takes a while to sort but is worthwhile in the end as the hassle will gradually go away.

Hmmmmm, actually, checking your credit rating would not be a help here - if they are ringing you then it is obvious that they have not updated their details on you and you shuld just take the time to go through them (for a short-cut) everytime they call.
Do you have a copy of your IVA agreement and a copy of your completion certificate?
Every time someone calls you inform them that they are breaching their responsibilities under everything you can think to throw at them - something will eventually strike a chord! Treating Customers Fairly protocols, Data Protection Act (Duty to maintain only up-to-date and accurate informtion), Financial Services Authority, Financial Ombudsman and so on, you get the picture.
There is also something prohibiting credit houses from chasing you when there is no debt... which obviously there isn't since it has been settled. You might find more info on this over on the Debt Free Wannabee forum. Basically though every time a company calls you should maybe offer to send them a COPY of your completion certificate but if they call you again you will be reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman - I think there is a charge levied against companies for complaints being brought against them this way so it should work.Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
