Starting a website... HELP!!!!

I'm not even sure where to start as you don't seem to have a lot of understanding of what you're getting into. As Brita mentioned, you've bought your domain off GoDadday but you can get your hosting off anywhere. First thing I'd do is look around at what different hosting packages have to offer. Most will offer you your own backoffice where you can automatically install wordpress or droopal and multiple plugins that come with. I beleive both of these have webstore plugins that you can add. It would then be a case of designing the website. You can use Notepad ++ which will colour code the code for you which is helpful. If you go with Wordpress cms (content management system) then I would look at a few beginners tutorial on the PHP scripting language and some tutorials on setting up a wordpress site (there are loads available on youtube). Another good resource may be https://www.webmonkey.com.
Not knowing in detail what your plans are or how you want to approach this it's hard to give advice but good luck with it.0 -
Thanks Israfel, Webmonkey looks very helpful. In all honesty, your right, I have absolutely no clue what I'm getting into, I am a beginner and need the simple terms that beginners understand!! But I am driven and I will teach myself using aids such as webmonkey. Any other input is still extremely welcome as every post I'm learning something new and discovering a wealth of resorces.
So PLEASE keep the advice coming!!!0 -
I always post this link, it shows a very, very simple example of the basic process.
I've gone on to do a simple page for myself.
Also +1 for forgetting about Dreamweaver.
