WHICH trial subscription

I signed up for a trial subscription from WHICH in August but cancelled it again after two weeks and received a confirmatory e mail.
Thinking no more of it, I was shocked to find that they had taken two months subscription from my bank account and now say they have no record of any e mails. I have sent them copies ( thankfully I still had them ) but still no refund. BEWARE !

If it was taken by direct debit then go to your bank and demand a refund under the direct debit guarantee. Don't forget to cancel the DD whilst you are there.

I signed up for this a while ago, only wanted it as I was looking to buy a new TV and wanted to read the guides.
I went on to my on line banking a few days later and cancelled the direct debit. Got a nice letter from them later in the month saying they were sorry I decided not to join and enclosing a mandate incase I wanted to come back in the future.
I think that is the easier way to do it rather than hope they receive / process your cancellation notice.Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention0 -
It has always worried me that an organisation which claims to champion consumer rights uses such tactics as 'negative option' marketing to lure their own punters.

I can remember when they went to great lengths to get their broadband service as a best buy by weighting very odd criteria - and not including those which would beat it.
I cancelled ages ago as the reports were getting very subjective and often misleading.0 -
Get a cahoot bank account. Then use a cahoot webcard with a £1 transaction limit for signing for these trial offers. Dont worry if you forget to cancel as when they go to debit your webcard they will find it does not work - and canel your subscription for you!0

Still fighting this one. Firstly they couldn't find my registration ( so how were they taking money off ? ) Then they found me and apologised saying the money would be recredited. It wasn't so I wrote again and they said the instruction to recredit my account would be activated in 14 day. - still waiting0

I signed up to a free trial on the 17/12 (also posted in vent section) and politely 'enquired' if it was possible to cancel by email rather than telephoning them and I got a reply on Christmas Day from a Kelly Badham saying they'd cancelled it.
You'd think they would employ people who actually read emails properly and not just jump to conclusions because they see the word 'cancel'. I don't usually have any trouble making myself understood in writing.
So in case you haven't read my thread in the vent section - it is possible to cancel by email. They make it sound on the website as though you HAVE to telephone them to cancel.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Brainhertz.
And they also do not include EBICO on their GAS/elec switching website, Ebico is "open to all comers" (thus not "special customers only" which was the excuse they first tried to give me when I asked why they did not include Ebico). EBICO For a long time was the cheapest gas provider over every supplier for a large proportion of consumers. And they have great prices for the not so well off consumers - who are targeted by the other big suppliers into paying extortionate rates.
WHICH? SUCKS!0 -
We did the trial and set up the payment by credit card. Although we cancelled they took the payment, but after emailing them to say what had happened they credited our credit account without having to be asked twice.0

I'm still having trouble with the muppets at their Customer Services. When I checked if it had been cancelled - it hadn't! Then someone promised to do it and sent a confimation email then the day after I get another 2 emails from different operators asking for my membership number as they can't find me on their system.
