Most expensive retail product?

As my cold sore reared it's ugly head last week, I bought a tube of ZOVIRAX ointment - the tube contains only 2g and is priced at £4.98, which by my reckoning works out at £2,490,000 per tonne!
Does anyone know of a dearer item>
No reliance should be placed on the above.

  • Not sure about dearer items, but Boots' own brand cold sore cream is cheaper than Zovirax and is exactly the same.

I saw a graph once that compares the price per litre of various liquids. HP brand printer ink towered above all else

Nahh... look at something like saffron which is generally £4 or so for less than 1g
