Hi,
I have recently completed an ISA transfer from HSBC to Halifax, however checking my remaining allowance, its states that i can only deposit a further £500 this year... surely that is wrong? I should be entitled to the full £5340 allowance right?
Thanks,
Dan

It should update in a week or so, if you are desperate you can ring them up and ask them to sort it.0

Exactly the same thing happened to me DS_88!
Even worse, my entire allowance has reduce to £0.00 and they didn't transfer all of my money in from my old ISA account!
I'm going to chase it up tomorrow, but let me know how you get on...0 -
I did a Transfer from Chelsea B S.
Halifax did it right for me...0 -
Sorry to bump the thread but it may be of interest to other people.
I called Halifax and they acknowledged that there had been an error and are currently working on it. I'm going to call them back middle of next week to chase it up.0 -
Hi,
20 percent tax has been charged on my Halifax ISA interest ! ! I called Halifax customer service on April 14th, to be told that this was happening with some ISA transfers from Santander and Barclays. No reimbursement of the amount taken out as yet, or letter of apology so far.
I have had nothing but problems with Halifax ISA since I opened an ISA account - only last month in mid March - and filed the paperwork for an ISA transfer from Santander.
The reason I moved from Santander was their poor customer service, and as yet Halifax have proved just as bad, if not worse.
I was informed by Halifax customer services at the end of March 2011 that the ISA transfer had been fully completed, and so I put in the full year’s Cash ISA allowance for 2011/2012 on April 7th. The money left my bank account but was not credited into my ISA.
I called Halifax on April 14th to be told that the transfer had only just been completed and that a “void” had been put on my account, and that no money would be accepted into my ISA whilst the “void” was in place. The money had been into some kind of “holding account” - certainly not a account I could get at!! I am still waiting for the “void “to be lifted and the money to be credited into my ISA.
The misinformation, and lack of accurate information that has led to this situation, plus the discovery that Halifax have taken tax out of the small amount of interest the account has earned since I set it up, has made me think I’ve joined a bank that is pretty incompetent.
I’ve written to them, made several calls, and tried in vain to get someone at the Halifax Strand London Branch (where I opened the account) to talk to me, and resolve this situation.0 -
If it's related to the ISA transfer there's little point talking to the branch. All they can do is record it on the system and it will get picked up in turn by the central Operations guys.

I'd suggest that you ring Customer Relations on 08457 25 35 19 and take it from there.0
