WCBilling Heard of them??

OK, so we checked my husbands bank account yesterday to find that a company by the name of WCBilling (wcbilling.com the name was left on the bank statement thankfully!) has withdrawn £1 on 31st March and £1 on 7th April.
We've never visited their site until we found this out!

Went to the bank yesterday about it and put a stop on the card and found out that we should put another 76p in the account because another £1 was due to come out on the 14th, guess who from! Luckily she checked this otherwise we'd be charged £5 per day for being overdrawn

Anyway, I know it's only £3, but I've no idea who this company is - well, we now know it's about webcams, but we don't even have a damned webcam!

So, I have contacted this wcbilling, and emailed them about it, and Halifax have given us a number for Fraud.

I want to know if people have used this site? Are they dodgy? Or has someone else got our bank details? If someone else did have our details, then why only use it for £3?

Any ideas people?

We're always careful with our letters/statements etc, I have all of them and they are locked away in the house.

Thanks in advance xxx

They've got a normal phone number in their site, why not give them a call.

Its a difficult question, but are you sure that no-one has signed up for one of their sites?

Just found these complaints which seems to suggest they are an adult !!!!!! site:

    http://www.iripoff.com/2973/WCBILLING.COM.html

When thieves steal/clone credit cards it is common for them to put through small charges of £1 or a few pounds first. If these are accepted, they then go on a spending spree and spend thousands.

A quick google suggests this is a very common scam linked to WCBilling though - lots of complaints on the web about them. Some complaints say that people used a site where it said it was free but you had to enter cc details to verify age. Then they were charged.

I think you were lucky it was only a couple of pounds. I am not suggesting you were surfing for !!!!!! by the way, the complaints relate to a number of different types of site.

  • Yes this company process the card payments for !!!!!! sites so it seems that maybe your husband used one of their cheap trials and then did not cancel so they keep charging. Doesn't seem like a scam to me for the sake of £3. If they wanted to scam you they would after initally trying the card empty your account. I think maybe you need to check your internet history and husbands emails as unfortunately I think the answer lies there rather than with credit card fraudsters.

I'm afraid not. You see, I'm open minded about things like this and it doesn't bother me if he uses !!!!!!. He has looked, but hardly, he spends most of his spare time on the damned xbox lol. There would be no reason for him to keep this secret from me.
None of us have looked at !!!!!! recently, and to be honest there are MANY sites out there that are free, and there is one that we have visited together, so there would be no point paying for viewings/videos if you can access them for free.

Lets get real, most men enjoy watching !!!!!! so I'm not going to sit here and think 'Oh no, my husband NEVER does anything like this, I KNOW my husband'.

PLUS our card was also used for another transaction with a 'watch free movies' for kids, where they took out £39 and that was promptly dealt with. I've not mentioned it on this post because I can't even remember the name of the site. It had a website address (on the statement) and I went on it and got this Blue background screen, I went back on it within 2 mins to show my husband and ask if he'd been on it, and it had changed to an orange screen with kids movies only. (the blue screen was for normal movies that have come out on DVD and some kids movies). It's bizarre.

But I agree, as I first stated, £3 is hardly worth it to be a scam.

Did Halifax check to see who's card it's being put through on? Yours or your husbands?
