Hoover Recommendation

Hi,
Turning to all you money-savers out there to help advise me as to what new hoover to buy. Ours has well and truly died and although it provides good exercise, I'm sure the carpets could look a lot better!
Not looking to spend a fortune, but want one with a high wattage, excellent suction and generally hardy so that it will last.
Anyone have any recommendations for under the £70ish mark. Or anyone know of any good appliance sales currently on.
Thanks so much as always for your help.

A 'Henry' every time. All cleaning companies use them. I have had one for 15 years and nothing has ever gone wrong with it. Excellent motors and very robust. Probably cost £90 though.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Thanks...somehow I did anticipate all the Henry recommendations!! We originally bought one, and then returned it to John Lewis as the land-lady had a hoover (which has now totally died and she isn't interested in replacing). Oh well, I suppose it might just have to be a Henry unless anyone else comes up with better recommendations!
Anyone spotted any offers around?0 -
Nope! Saw the thread and came on to recommend...A henry!Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0

We have had a Dyson , a Samsung , a vax , a hoover upright and now a Henry . We have found the Henry to be the best as we have 2 children and a long haired cat .0
