Renting Advice

Im moving in with my boyfriend for the first time in a few months. I have rented before but with friends and have been living with my parents for the last year or two.

Im looking for advice on how much to budget for bills ect and how best to pay them.
What to look for in a property?
Any useful advice would be great

Cheers! :)

Aside from the rent, council tax is likely to be your next largest outgoing. Ascertain what banding the property is in and how much the council charges per year/month for council tax.

As for gas, electric, water, telephone, internet, etc - it varies. I didn't have much of a clue what these cost and it does vary from household to household.

If you go to the "debt free wannabe" forum, or the "Bankrupcy" forum, you'll find lots of threads/posts which inlude an "SOA" (statement of Affairs). Or put "SOA" in the search function.

Although you are not bankrupt (!!) other people's SOAs will give a good idea of the sort of costs/outgoings other people have.
