Praise: Ciliary Blue

Just got a pair of sunglasses back from being reglazed by Ciliary Blue. They really are a great company. ww.ciliaryblue.com

I had previously been to my optician and showed interest in sunglasses, asking if my cheap and nasty off the shelf standard sunnies could be reglazed. They said there would be no way my glasses could, but they would be happy to sell me a pair for well over £300! I had used Ciliary blue before to reglaze some normal specs, so gave them a go with these sunglasses.

Just £22 and four days later, I now have a perfect pair of prescription sunglasses using my £10 frames bought from boots.

Great service, perfect fit, loads of communication throughout the process. They cannot be faulted.

Highly recommended!

I agree, Ciliary Blue are wonderful! :T
I've been using them for a couple of years now, and they are just re-glazing some sunglasses for me. I recently suffered some appalling customer service at Specsavers and thank goodness Ciliary Blue are there to pick up the pieces. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I agree too, my family and friends have all used them, I think we have saved conservatively over £1500 over the last 3 years between us. Their customer service is wicked and they care! Can't praise them enough as far as I'm concerned! Well done www.ciliaryblue.com !!
  • I've been using Ciliary Blue for around 18 months now after reading an article in the Independent newspaper, and in that time I've had the lenses of about half-a-dozen frames replaced (these were frames languishing in a drawer, which would otherwise have gone to waste). So I've now got spare reading glasses, spare driving and outdoor glasses and also a pair for watching TV. The whole lot has problably cost me less than the price of one "famouse name" pair from a high street opticians. I was a little dubious at first about using Ciliary Blue - I wasn't too keen on the idea of sending off my glasses to complete strangers. And what would I do if anything went wrong? Well I needn't have worried, as nothing has gone wrong. With my latest order I realised after I'd sent it off that I'd wanted reading glasses and not the distance glasses I'd ordered. My mistake. No problem. I sent an email to change my order and this was quickly acknowledged. The glasss arrived yesterday (within days of my order), and - because reading glasses were cheaper - the refund for the difference was in the bank the same day. Absolutely brilliant service. Buy with confidence - you won't regret it.

  • I agree - Ciliary Blue are fab! I just got my spectacles back today - in a few days - much quicker than had I used my usual high street optician. Also they are so friendly and communicative - a real personal service via the web. I haven't used online reglazing srvices before but found the confidence to do so after favourable reports about Ciliary Blue here. How pleased am I? I've just sent an order to have my second pair of spectacles reglazed :)
  • Hello All

After having had a shabby experience with one of the discount online opticians – gdirect, I was wary about trusting my precious peepers to another value optical option.

I needn’t have worried. Ciliary Blue, the only thing better than your high quality lenses was the hand-holding care and the blazingly fast turn around time.

Specifically, Transitions XTRActive 1.67 lenses are really difficult to find in the UK anyway and the best prices I could find were in the £230+ range. That’s nearly 100 quid more than I paid at CB - they had the coveted lenses in stock, ready to rock.

Then there’s the unparalleled service. I’m not just comparing Ciliary Blue to other online operations; high street retailers could also learn a lesson on the value of good old-fashioned care and personal service. CB transformed me from an already burnt, twice shy, service wary pessimist to a believer that there are some genuinely contentious professionals out there.

Chris was there every time I called, always polite, professional, and helpful. I like it when I call and the same person answers, knows me by name and makes it his business that the job is completed to my satisfaction. It’s reassuring. Considering the 100’s of customers and high street opticians they supply the level of personal care takes real dedication.

The icing on the cake was that during this busy Christmas period – Ciliary Blue were worried I may not get my glasses this week so they called me Friday afternoon to ensure I got my glasses on time ON THE WEEKEND! I received them 9.32am Saturday morning. Just outstanding.

No, I don’t work for or know CB, I’ve never blogged or had an exceptional experience that warranted recognition – but if you, like me were in two minds about reglazing or prescription lenses from the internet then you’re in safe hands.

Thank you Ciliary Blue, I’ll definitely be putting another order in January.

I too have nothing but praise for Ciliary Blue. First of all, they are miles cheaper than other opticians, I have a high prescription, and the ultra thin 1.67 index lenses still came in priced at half the price I had previously paid at Iris Optical. Secondly, after a few weeks of wearing my new frames, I decided they didn't suit me after all. I called up Chris and explained, and he asked me to return the glasses along with the new frames I wanted to put the lenses into instead. He swapped them around for me at no charge, not even postage, and even included a sweet in the box when he returned them to me. I've worn glasses for the past thirty or so odd years, and this is the best customer service I have ever experienced in all that time. Ciliary Blue truly care about their customers.

Ciliary Blue are with out doubt the best reglazers operating in the UK today.

If they were (and they may well be), would they employ people to bump up their profile on forums by registering then solely posting about them ? Just curious...

5 of the people on this thread have solely posted about CB after registering, no other posts about any other subject. A remarkable co-incidence...

Harking back to the OP, why would you want '...cheap and nasty off the shelf standard sunnies' re-glazed?

So the newbie who resurrected this old thread is probably a spammer.

Just checked HKB33's posting profile - a clear shill if ever there was one. Every post in any forum was about cilliary blue. Must have some alert setup or just do weekly advance searches on their company name.

Ironically I have used cilliaryblue and was pleased - but following this shoddy performance I wont be using them again.

So come on HKB33 - if you aren't an employee or part owner of this company, come out and say it here.........
