Arranging viewings

Hi all,

I've got a viewing of a house this Saturday abd the estate agents still haven't told me the time - they are to get back to me by the end of the day, but we'll see, they were meant to let me know at the start of the week.

The house has been on the market less than 2 weeks and i tried to get a viewing as soon as it came on - however I work full time and the estate agents don't do evening viewings (Is this normal?), and they had no appointments last Saturday.

Now there is an offer on the house of the asking price.

Any advice on how to proceed?

If you have time, go into the office and ask them face to face. If they already have an offer, they may be not wanting to let others see it but may still be required to market it by the vendor. It's harder to be evasive if you do it face to face.

If the house has someone living in it, stick a note through the door saying you tried to arrange a viewing but couldn't find a time with the EA, leave your contact number and ask the vendor to get back to you.

  • And of course the cynical might think is the offer real, and the offer could well disappear in a couple of weeks time.

    Thanks guys

The house is empty at the minute though, so no point in the note, it'll only get picked up by the estate agents!

And unfortunately the estate agents isn't open when I would have time to call in!

Is house hunting basically impossible when working full time, with no flexibility!

I never really thought that the offer might not be real - I'm new to this!

Sounds like an inside job. EA already has someone lined up and wants to keep other parties away until the job is done.
