Help!!
I am currently with First:Utility and do all my billing online. I have always been in credit and submitted my meter reads on time. I get my bills taken by Direct Debit every quarter. i have just recieved a gas bill from them to advise I owe £597!! I phoned them and asked and they said that their system errored in JUNE last year and has not taken payment for my gas since! They are now demanding I pay this money back and ive explained I can pay £20 a month back but they are being really nasty about it. Does any1 know where I stand with this? thanks

I would immagine that the first check to make would be looking back over your old bank statements to see if they are correct about not taking the payments. As the system could just as easily error to forget they they were taken as it could to not take them...I am an employee of British Gas, however the views expressed on this post are mine and do not necessarily reflect the views of Centrica, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies.0
