My mum has had her home phone and broadband account with talktalk for a number of years.
After finding a better deal with BT last year (around October), she rang them and asked if they could equal it; they said they could not and offered her three months free line rental to stay with them.
She agreed to this and received her next monthly bill in November but for December, January and February heard nothing from them. Today she has received a bill for £170, which they have told her will be taken from her account in ten days' time - she is quite concerned about this, as she cannot afford to pay this in one go.
She rang talktalk, who said that the best they offer is for her to pay it in two monthly instalments - on top of other bills, this is still too much for her.
Although she has no issue with paying for services she has used, surely it is unreasonable for them to send her a bill after three months and expect her to pay it in one or two large chunks?
Anyone able to offer some advice on her rights?
