Hi all,
I signed up to the AA for membership on 7th March. All done through their website - £79.45. Gave them my bank details and received a prompt email welcoming me.
It confirmed my membership number and policy etc....
My membership pack will be with me in 28 days.
Sent of an email yesterday enquiring where said pack was. Replies - prompt though they were concluded with this:
Dear Mr xxxx,
Thank you for your email. It has been logged against the above Service Request Number.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you.
Unfortunately, the Membership was never set up. I apologise for this as you received the confirmation email and as far as you were concerned, were covered.
Our system shows the quote which you received for £79.45.
I am able to proceed with the application and the Membership will start immediately, however, I will need you to supply your bank sort code and account number/credit card number and valid from/expiry dates.
Payment has not yet been taken for the Membership.
If you check your bank statement, this will confirm the above. However, if for any reason you feel that payment has been taken, please send a copy of your statement.
If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards
Laura

So if you have recently bought cover....check.
I think this is shocking. Thank goodness I had not broken down.
From what I have since read, the service from the AA is shocking, but this is something else.
