Hi guys
I wonder if you can help me
I'm having trouble trying to get my money back . amzon send me this email a few weks ago :
Thank you for writing to Amazon.co.uk with your concern.
When you place an order with Amazon.co.uk or on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace, we contact your payment card's issuing bank to confirm that your card has a valid number, and has not been reported as lost or stolen.
This is communicated via a full authorisation for the amount of the purchase. However, we do not actually proceed with the charge. This is simply one of the security measures that we use to protect our customers. Additionally, if you sell items on Amazon Marketplace, we may periodically authorize your card to ensure your account information is up-to-date.
Please rest assured that you have only been charged once for this order. Most likely, your bank is holding this extra authorisation on your card. Some banks have been known to hold these authorisations for 7-10 business days, and you will need to contact your bank if you wish to have this authorisation removedThank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
from this email amazon are telling me that from the order that got cancel ( long story) , it is now my banks responbiltiy to authorised this money back to me . I have contacted my bank but the are still telling me that the no nothing about authorisations . I'm now at my wits end with the bank telling me lies after lies when amazon had told me in another email to me ''Please be aware that the responsibility for releasing the authorised funds lies solely with your bank and therefore we cannot guarantee that the bank will respond to this request.''
so where do I go from here as the bank it holding back my £104.08p do I take them to court or where do I go , if you can help me that would be fab . thanks all

the same happened to me way back about a small amount, and amazon said the same to me, if I remember right I got my money back after a few days.
maybe if you post on the banking forum, or consumer rights forum you will find more people who know great deal about this kind of issue, which sounds quite specific.
hope you get your money back quickly0 -
I believe banks cannot hold your money for unknown reason and mostly likely the money is held by amazon for a short period of time. I would suggest companies using these to get a bigger cashflow for running their businesses like paypal reserves0

I got an email saying i was now overlimit on my card. I checked online and it was not the case. But when i rang the card they said i was.
Turned out an amount pending was exactly the same as my order from Amazon. I pointed this out and was told in that case there was nothing to worry about. The money was back available on my card in about 4 days.0 -
