A little help please

Just after a little advice please I've rented my house for a year now .
My landlord still has post delivered here and turns up every few weeks for it ?
This I's going to some mad but I suffer with my nerves and him turning up as and when really has me on edge thing like if I've not vax that day and picked up the childrens toys or general things like this .
I'm really not sure how to handle this matter as it seems so silly but does get me down
Thank you

He shouldn't be turning up randomly and should be giving you at least 24 hrs notice. Just keep it polite and say it is quite difficult for you to accommodate his random visits, remind him of your rights to 'quiet enjoyment' or better still, give him information on the facility of re-direction of post next time he comes to see you.

I've said about redirecting but not really taking the hint.

Stuff a box outside the door and pop all his mail in there! Maybe he will get the hint.

Write on it "not at this address"
and stick it back in the box. It's the only way he'll learn if you've asked him nicely.

It all depends on how confident and assertive you are or want to be. Please note that it is not normal for a landlord to "pop in" unannounced and collect post from someone else's HOME. That he is having mail still being delivered to that address could signify that he doesn't have Consent To let from his mortgage lender.

If you don't want to discuss this face-to-face I suggest you either write to him and tell him that you'd like advance-notice in writing or consider putting his post outside in a box on the doorstep and change the barrel of one of the locks on the front-door. Maybe the back one as well if he has a key to that, too. Doing that is a five-minute job with a screwdriver and should cost you in the region of a fiver at somewhere like B&Q if it's a common sort of lock like a Yale.

Your landlord DOES NOT have a legal entitlement to enter your home without giving you proper notice in writing. You are not legally obliged to comply in any case although it's a risk if your landlord doesn't understand that because you could be given notice if you're not currently in fixed-term AST.

Thank you all. He I's a first time landlord and I'm really not sure he understand what I's expected of him.
