My parents spend £11,000 per annum on supermarket shopping. This is for a family of 4.
I once attempted to get them to spend less and actually reduced it to £90 per week but they didnt like me "interfering" with their finances.
The amount of food which gets wasted is disgusting.0 -
Im on my own and spend approx £30 a week0

Well Iv put two hundred and forty pounds to one side and have fourty four pounds left. I did spend thirty eight pounds in m&s on half price foods so have to add that to the two hundred and forty pounds. Approx two hundred and seventy eight pounds.
I wont need to buy anymore food now other than fresh ie fruit and yogurts. The food I have in should last well into next month as we are fully stocked.
Im aiming to spend no more than two hundred and forty per month as the MS shop was an impulse buy.0 -
We do our shopping every two weeks, and we used to spend about £100. Because of various issues we've had reduce this and eek out what we do buy. So now we spend about £70 every two weeks. I buy everything fresh, and cook from scratch. So, thats £35 per week for 2 of us and 2 cats.
I have to say we dont drink, so this is why it's a bit lower. But it just goes to show, that even if you buy all fresh veg, fruit and meat it can still be healthy and cheap.0 -
As a result of a paycut last month, I know have a weekly budget of £30 per week for everything for myself and 2 daughters (17 and 12). Tight but just about do-able - problem being that my eldest (19) has been home from uni for the holidays, and stretching it for an extra person has been impossible0

I spend £600 on food shopping - that is for a family of 4 ( 2 in nappies) and 1 cat. I am really trying to cut down and did manage to find ways to save money but it all takes time and thats a very valuable commodity on our house.
I find meal planning really useful to save money and help us eat healthily.

we spend about £500 a month. Thats for 2 adults. 4 kids 11, 9, 9 and 4. 1 Dog and 7 rescue cats. I include all the family meals, packed lunches, drinks etc in that, plus pet food and cat litter, all my toiltries and cleaning stuff. I am always looking to save though!0

I try to aim for 100-150 a month, that's for me, hubby, and 2 kids.0

i spend about £50 a week for 2 adults and a teenage son, cook nearly everything from scratch and do shop around
I am veggie so think that cuts the bill quite a lot as meat is expensive
Could afford to spend more but hate shopping so try to get in out as quickly as possible0
