Not 100% about a train but there is a night bus to East Croydon station and TFL usually offer free and through the night transport after the NYE celebrations. The TFL website might help.0

Last year there were trains through the night to East Croydon.
I doubt if you will know 100% for certain this year until October or November but it's likely they will run0 -
Personal experience (as a train guard until last year) says that they do not know how many staff will agree to work it yet - train crew rostering is a VERY complicate kettle of fish and most additional overnight services on NYE/NYD are run on the goodwill and perks offered to the staff.
I agree with dzug, late October would be the reasonable time to start expecting rumours to start coming out.
That is of course if there is no engineering works booked over the new year for Croydon. With it being such a huge area of infrastructure any mass renewals or maintainance int he area might be done with a complete closure from Christmas eve night to the first weekend in Janruary (ala Reading during Christmas just gone)Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -
I live in Croydon, the trains to the best of my knowledge run all night on NYE
Failing that you can get the N159 from Westminister bridge (slap bang next to the London Eye) and travel all the way to East Croydon for free (free travel finishes 04:30am
The journey takes approx 30-40 mins at most (i used to drive the N159)
Hope that helpsIf Adam and Eve were created first

There is no N159 any more. Nightbus version of the route is now just the 159 and it finishes at Streatham as the day route.
The one you're looking at now is the N68 (Tottenham Court Road - Old Coulsdon via East Croydon). Journey time approx 50 minutes to E Croydon.

The best of your knowledge will be correct IF: There are no engineering works in the area over Christmas AND there is enough train crews to make it work.Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -
