I appreciate OP has said the iphones are staying but thought I should clarify what I meant.. I wasn't suggesting ending the contract she has, just selling the handset and using an old handset or a cheaper handset, thus freeing up some money towards a debt. She can put the sim card from the iphone into another handset and still use all the minutes she is paying for on the contract. She still pays £50/whatever a month but gets say £200 or whatever the handset is worth, which she can then pay off a debt.

Hope this makes more sense.
