    I still dont think that it is right cos as ChattyChappy said the balances with the highest interest is paid off in full and I did that and contributed further to the balance of the transfer.

    Yeah, but you still got interest from date of purchase to when the payment arrived that could be applied to it.

    There is a purchase rate and that's what's charged. The exception is that interest isn't applied if the whole balance is paid in full. I believe it's clear enough, but the trap is people forget the "whole balance" thing (or whatever the wording is). The consolation is that at least the consequences aren't as serious as they were before the payment hierarchy was changed.

    I did a BT today - got annoyed with all the stuff the guy read out - telling me if I miss a payment I'll lose the deal, I'm advised to pay more than just the minimum blah blah blah.

    Personally I think the rules should (and usually are) explained clearly enough. I think it's for cardholders to work out the consequences.

    I think that some of the greatest engineers have done rather well; it's their clients that have had no return on their investment
