I'm another who wouldn't bother with the defrost button, all you need do is turn the setting for how brown you like your toast up a bit if you're sticking in a frozen slice.
As for toasters - they're really all much of a muchness aren't they? Unless you want to invest in a design statement like a Dualit I'd just get something that can take the thickness of things you want to shove in it and complements your kitchen.“Don't do it!
