    I get my toasters from argos. never paid more than £7, 5yrs old and fine. no defrost though.

    I'm another who wouldn't bother with the defrost button, all you need do is turn the setting for how brown you like your toast up a bit if you're sticking in a frozen slice.

    As for toasters - they're really all much of a muchness aren't they? Unless you want to invest in a design statement like a Dualit I'd just get something that can take the thickness of things you want to shove in it and complements your kitchen.
