Can't find my pics, but you can see a small picture of New Siam 2 room by running your cursor over the small pictures on this page; http://newsiam.net/ns/newsiam2.php

My main criticism would be that they don't provide decent blankets.

Cheers - yeah I saw the 950B rate for Riverside earlier when I registered so am thinking that'd be nice!

Worried that it says 1.5-2 hours from airport, didn't seem to take that long to get to Atlanta, so is Siam much more central then? Sorry, we were only in Bangkok for 1 night so I didn't get to know it that well.

Ah, have to check our tickets and see where we're flying into...

Bought latest Thailand Rough Guide on Amazon, new, for just over £10 just now and paid no postage either due to MSE! So excited now...

They have closed the old airport for international flights, so there is only one airport anyway, but it is the new one.

Thanks all - nice to know there's only the one airport, avoids confusion - and thanks for the pronunciation - would never have said it like that!

We're on a sort-of budget so won't be buying anything huge, but in terms of glasses I am luckily a bionic woman as had laser sugrery 5 years ago :D

When we went in 2003 we averaged £10 a day each, inc acommodation, travel and food. This time we are allowing £25 a day so I'm hoping inflation doesn't rob us of a good time :o

Surely Samui(Chaweng) accommodation is going to eat into your budget? Have you prepaid for that accommodation?
    I've re-read. I think that you mean £25 'each'. :)

Chaweng is only 9,000B for the week and we already have £120 changed into Baht for this. And yes, the £25 is each this time round ;)
