I have just tried this code for a hotel I am considering making a reservation with although I have not actually made a reservation yet. The "2 for 1" costs the same as the "Leisure Saver" £57 a night; the "Friends and family rate" costs £48.45 a night and the "Exclusive rate" costs the same as using my hubby's American Express card, £40.92. :j

I wonder can you get points when making a reservation with an American Express card and when using the Exclusive rate?!?

Jo4, if you click on the "Terms & Conditions" at the bottom of the linked page it should show you. You cannot get Priority Club points for the American Express "up to 35% discount" rates.

You do not get Priority Club points with either the American Express "up to 35% discount" rates or the "Exclusive rate", now that I have had a chance to read into it.

I made a booking using the "Exclusive rate" and the booking states that I will get Priority club points. :j

The thing with HI and Intercontinental is that for almost all promotional rates you are not "entitled" to points - but most hotels give them anyway - simply because they don;t cost them anything and they would otherwise have to sort their points allocation.

However some hotels (especially London) do not give points on promotion rates and if you ring to complain you are reminded that promotion rates are not points eligible.

So - long and short - you will probably get the points but you must be ready for the fact you might (if unlucky) not get them
The proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant
