Supercard for Nintendo DS - totally stuck!

Hi

I've just bought a Nintendo DS Lite as a present and keep hearing about something called a Supercard - it's supposed to allow you to be able to plug in an SD card and run Game Boy Advance games of it.

I've done some searching and most of what I can find on the web has completely baffled me. Can any seasoned gamer tell me where I should buy a Supercard from in the UK, whether I need something called a Superpass and whether I need anything else to get this up and running.

Thanks

Martin

No, you don't need one to play GBA games if you just plug in the old GBA cartridge. What I'm looking for is something that I can use to launch games from what's called an SD card, something where I can store hundred of bits of software on (memory card).
  • I would hold you're horses for just a little while... In a few weeks there will be a new version of Ninja DS, a standalone card which will also allow the use of homebrew/emulation and Scummvm - a classic interface which allows you to play games like day of the tentacle and monkey island, using the touch screen for control. I think it's gonna be released in about 4 weeks.

    Hi Gantybop

do you know of a trustworthy buyer I could order one of these from?

UPDATE - have found their site
  • As there not out just yet it'd be hard to say...
You shouldn't have too many problems anywhere, but try there official site (not sure about posting links so google it!) I think you can order directly from them

I think you are a tad confused about what a supercard and superpass key is for. To play GBA games you just plug them into the GBA slot in the bottom edge of the DS.
A supercard and superpass key are so that you can play downloaded DS games from an SD card. You need both the card and pass key to get it up and running but with the new software you can then get rid of the superpass key. You will be left with the supercard which goes in the GBA slot. The supercard also has a slot for the SD card.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

OK, I think I'm getting somewhere now. Following on from what you've said one of my colleagues has an SD card that is full of GBA games that he plays in his DS via a Supercard.

So, if I want to do the same as him, what supercard do I need? Your saying there's new software that lets me get rid of the superpass. Which supercard has this on it and where do I buy the supercard your talking about?

    Ta
  • But if you wait for the ninja ds there is no need for a pass key, just the ninja ds (Itself an SD card).
  • Bare in mind this is technically illegal
  • Technically, more like totally :rotfl:
