Garage Rent - please help

Hello,
I'm going to let out our garage, found people who want it. Now, as I'm new to it, how shall I make it right? I found a contract which we can sign. But what about content insurance? They want to keep some stuff there- like sofas, fridge etc. I don't want them to come back and say that something has been stolen from a garage.
Please help!!!!

Specify that the property has to be insured. You'd have to have buildings insurance perhaps? Would it count as business premises? You might need to speak to an insurance expert for advice.
Will it be a repairing contract (ie: if the roof leaks, they have to fix it ... or will that be down to you?)0 -
Basically the garage belongs to a house which we are letting out and it is in a garage block nearby. So, we are to let it out separately. Before the rent will start I'm going to check everything - eg walls and roof so there is no problems, so we are to fix it. At the moment it is on a month to month basis we agreed at0

Do you currently have buildings insurance on the garage? Or is it included in a service charge? I'd expect that you'd need that - not just for the structure, but in case, say, someone drove into the back wall, brought the lot down and injured/killed anyone or the structure of someone else's garage.
Would you need any permission from the freeholder to the garages, presuming there is one?

the garage belongs to us, to the property that we own. at the moment it is covered by our insurance but as we are to let out our property, we are changing insurance to a landlord one - so contents won't be covered0

That is their problem and its up to them to decide to take the risk or not.0
