Financially is it worth uping the spec of my Sony Vaio N21?

Hi guys. I've had the above laptop about 3 yrs now and thank God, it's still going strong!
However it is slow at times (it has 1GB memory & 120 GB/Go - whatever that means). Would uping the RAM to 2GB help a bit? How much would it cost to do so?
I really on use my laptop for surfing the net, occasional streaming and for storing a few pics/music and Word documents.
Thanks all.

I see that you've asked this question before and have been given some horrible advice.
The answer is, yes of course.
It will be cheaper and easier than you might imagine.
For your Vista Home Premium, 2 GB of memory is recommended. So you need another GB at least.
Here for £10.99 delivered.
That's it.
Forget all the silliness about upgrading processors etc
You should check for malware and run some cleaning tools, such as CCleaner and Malwarebytes' AntiMalware(Download, install, update and run a Full Scan. Choose 'Remove Selected' at the end of the scan is there is anything found).0 -

Vista can never run well on only 1GB of RAM. As advised above, another gig and a good clean up with CCleaner should make a big difference. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

yes i was a bit confused by the talk of processors and what not! how much would it cost to get this installed once i bought the memory?0 -
Adding laptop memory is a DIY job - remove the battery, unscrew the panel covering the memory connector(s) and clip it in. Replace cover and battery and away you go. Google will have info on which panel the memory slot is under if it isn't obvious from looking.
Paying somebody to fit it will double the price at least.0 -

Will take you just a few minutes. Just try not to get your fingerprints on the module.
Sony Europe
Manual here. Should contain instructions for adding, removing or replacing RAM.0 -
