One of us is a FTB...

Hi,

I am about to sell my flat and want to buy a new property with my fianc!e. She is a first time buyer but obviously I am not. Are we still able to get the FTB incentives? We are both teachers if that makes any difference (i read something once about key workers....)!

    No. Joint owners must both be FTBs.

    You absolutely will not qualify for FTB Stamp Duty relief.....
  • Whether you qualify for a FTB mortgage depends on the individual lender's criteria - there is no standard definition for this purpose - but I would suspect that unless OP's fiancee buys on her own these deals will not be available.

    I had assumed the OP was asking about FTB exemption from Stamp Duty (hence the link to HMRC in my post).

    I agree the OP does not specify. If the question is about FTB qualification for mortgage purposes, this, as you state Richard, depends on the lender.
