That is true, but I haven't found the selection or quality to be great there.
Do you know what those markets are like? There is obviously also the Dundee one but it didn't seem to have that many stalls the last time I was there (although that was quite a while ago now!).0 -
tbh I haven't been to either market (despite my best intentions). Didn't know there was a dundee one, though.0

Third Saturday of the month...http://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/citydevelopment/economicdev/farmersmarket/
There was a small one in Monifieth (outside Tesco) too. Think it was last Saturday of month, but don't think it's on anymore.0 -
Don't know which post you mean but my DH is like that. You need to add items to bulk it out and keep quiet.
I found that my lot don't notice lentils in the mince to bulk it but they do notice oats and won't eat it. Just a wee thought from me! Lots of carrots grated in too helps

Yeah, Robertsons is pretty expensive! To be honest I only occasionally buy from Scott Bros. too as I tend to go to the St Andrews Farmers Market at the beginning of the month and stock up on meat for the freezer. Then I check on mysupermarket for deals at Sainsbury's and Asda (and Sains is often the cheapest for the things we buy!) and get my basics there then go to Aldi and/or Lidl for some other bits inc. some fruit and veg depending on what I got at the market and what offers are on elsewhere.
I'm only feeding myself, DH and 3 yr old DS1 (DS2 is only 3 months) and I bf and use cloth nappies apart from one pack of disposables a month for night so no expenses there, but we do eat a lot of meat and as much organic as possible and don't really buy many budget lines and I spend around £75 per week (inc toiletries/cleaning stuff and a fair bit of wine)...and up until recently it was only £50.
Are cloth nappies cheaper then? Its not something I have ever looked into as I just think more washingI already do 2 loads a day.
We are going to the farm shop today, apparently they have a wee kids play area as well.
ha ha we like our wine too, although I have given it up for lent (DH hasnt lol) so we saving a bit there.
I always thought sainsburys were very expensive? But my friend did say the basics stuff is very good. Yesterday I had some shopping delivered from tesco and pretty much all of it is value bit, going to see how we get on, first impressions everything looks ok apart from the stewing beef, by the time I have cut the fat off I think there might be enough for me and DD for a steak pie but that'll be it. Next week will try adsa smart price and week after sainsburys basics.
And go to that farm shop and aldi. I am going to get myself a gammon joint, something I have never cooked before and do the coke cooking thing everyone is raving about on here, hopefully get a few meals out of it and mya's sandwiches.
Will have a look what markets are on when DH gets paid as we struggling a bit this month, have a new garage door to buy and we had 3 new passports to get.

Will try lentils thanks, put them in the chicken curry the other day and yummmmm! and it bulked it out. Never thought of grated carrot! I but lot of carrots as they cheap but tbh I hate carrots cooked, and kind of force myself to eat them because they cheap, never thought of grating them into stuff, I bet I would hardly notice it.0
