Fairfx is quite good, particularly if you are likely to use it overseas. Travelex sterling is slightly cheaper (assuming ryanair accept it - I don't use ryanair so I'm not sure) http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/prepaid-cards#online

Thank you, it seems that the fairfx is the cheapest one
it says that It costs £9.95, is that one time application fee? or annually? plus it says it's free if I load around £10 quid,is that what it means?
is it there any kind of requirement(like charges if we don't use it etc)?i mean i mainly need to use it for ryanair as having a family of 7 we paid around £70 just credit card charges ,so some saving would be good.

You can get the card for free, either through the This Is Money link or through a link provided by an existing card owner, who earns money by referral.

I am a big fan of the currency cards but I think the main drawback with Fairfx is that if you lock your card with too many PIN attempts then that is it for you if it is outside office hours or a weekend.

They do not have a dedicated unlock service 24/7, only an email that is monitored but not by Fairfx agents. So they can answer queries but I have had to either wait a couple of days with little money after foolishly getting my PIN wrong or take it on the chin and use my expensive bank card.
