Primus - cheap and nasty

A couple of weeks ago I was tempted to go to Primus from Talktalk so I filled in one of those switching forms and sat back.
As soon as Talktalk got wind of this they made me an irresistible offer and agreed to stay with them.
I went off and called Primus and informed them of my intent to cancel the contract and they told me to confirm by sending an email which I did as soon as I put the phone down.
The switch still happened and I only knew it had happened when I got a letter from Talktalk about my final bill.
I called Primus and they said they never received the email and that I was with them now and if I wanted to leave I would have to pay 12months line rental. After considerable effort and several emails they eventually agreed to send me back to TalkTalk as quickly as possible without penalty.
That was two days ago, today we are back at square one with them. They want their pound of flesh for switching me without my consent.
They told me to arrange for Talktalk to take over my service and then reinstate the penalty charges.
Now they keep handing me off to other departments and saying that they will ring back when they don't.

After I wrote my first missive I phoned Primus again and after listening to that message about how great they are for 10 minutes I spoke to a woman who told me that everything was in hand, I was being transferred back to my original supplier and that I would not be charged a penalty.
So I pointed out that I'd been told that before
Her reply was that my calls had all been handled by trainees
Even the supervisor apparently
