If a LL states on a listing "benefits considered" what other factors might go into deciding whether they will let to said people on benefits?
Would it be things like the reasons they are on benefits, or references, or a clear rent history, or all and more?
It's really hard in this area to find LLs that will accept those on benefits so it was just a general wondering really.
I presume the letting to benefits would be as a last resort? Say if they hadn't garnered any interest from working claimants?

At a guess possible factors are:
Type of benefit (eg long term ESA vs JSA)
Good rental history (eg reference from previous LL)
Lack of adverse credit information (eg no CCJs / defaults which implies lives within their means)
General appearance of the T / age / family / group of friends / other circumstances (some of these are probably technically illegal but it would be foolish to pretend that they are not considered).
Local knowledge / references.

there is no fixed definition - it means whatever the person who wrote it had in mind when they penned it
FWIW to me it means I know there are a lot of other properties for rent in this area, I want to make sure i get a tenant so I will not restrict myself to only certain sections of the market and will therefore consider applicants on benefits, whether I take them or not in the end depends on how many people are interested at the time and what my vetting process says about each applicant
I think you are reading too much into this - it means what it says, applications accepted from anyone, inculding those on benefits, either type of person may be subsequently turned down as after vetting0 -
They might insist that you provide a guarantor and I'm assuming that they will require references from previous landlords.
Why don't you just ask them?0
