Life insurance and mortgage advice needed

Myself and my partner have had a mortgage approved and are in the process of buying a house. We seem to be hitting lots of stumbling blocks. I had to have a medical screening for the life insurance with HSBC and it showed up blood in a urine test. To cut a long story short as a precaution the doc wants me to have a kidney scan although blood test showed normal kidney function and latest urine sample was clear) however the HSBC Life cover have postponed my application for 3 months until investigations are carried out. I am paying to have the scan done privately to speed things up but the big question is will this stop my mortgage from completing? My partners cover is fine. We are already in the 4th week of the buying process and waiting for scans and results is going to take some time. Just wondered if HSBC will still complete without me having cover?

Life cover is normally not a condition for a mortgage.
HSBC will have a first charge which means if the house is sold they will get the proceeds.
They also take a deposit to protect them from falling prices.
It will be your partner that's exposed if the worst happened as theyswould have to pay the mortgage on their own.
Check with HSBC but I don't think it will be an issue for them as they have the house as security.0 -
Thankyou, Im hoping it will all be resolved in a few weeks as im paying to have the scan done privately and hopefully if thats clear that will be the end of it and i can continue with the application. Was just worried it was going to put everything back further x0
