Joint bank account help?

Hi all
My boyfriend and I need to set up a joint account for whilst we are away travelling in a few months.
I live in England and he lives in Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
All my current bank accounts require you to be a UK resident (so I cannot add him on to one that I already have open) and all other bank accounts I've looked at on the market say the same.
Althought Guernsey is actually part of the UK most accounts specify that you cannot be a resident of the Channel Islands.
Does anyone have any idea how to get around this or suggestions of how else to have a joint account?
Thanks
Lucy

why do you need a joint a/c?
it makes a lot of sense for both of you to have different a/cs with different debit cards in case one a/c is compromised or a debit card is rejected or lost0 -

Technically it is not part of the UK, it is a British Crown Dependency.
Although its defence is the responsibility of the United Kingdom, the Bailiwick of Guernsey is not part of the UK; and while it participates in the Common Travel Area, it is not part of the European Union.0 -
The product you are looking for is an offshore current account - chances are that whoever you currently bank with will have a suitable one that meets your needs. There are a number around that offer fee-free in-credit banking.0
