Thanks for the update... ! Well done...

A friend of mine had a run in with a builder recently. TS went to a lot of time and trouble and then gave her totally bad legal advice.

I suppose for them it's easiest just to push people off to the CC rather than investigate properly. Probably here is not to have the debate - but (he says risking a debate anyway!) IMHO it is symptomatic of a bigger picture - endless rules and regs which rarely get enforced. I'm thinking of pre-packs, phoenix companies etc in this context. Was just dealing with a claim on a company yesterday. Directors dissolved it despite outstanding claims, totally illegal. Nothing will happen, nothing will be done. Police/financial crime investigatory bodies (there are loads) are more interested in "thematic" blitzes these days. Court system is hopelessly inefficient. No incentive to improve, just do things their own way on the basis they can just pass on their fees to cover their costs. And that's before you even consider the costs of legal representation. The system is so unfit for purpose that the gov started dreaming up alternatives. So we have tribunals - supposedly informal but now pretty much as stodgy as normal courts, and ombudsmen which have a tendency to dish out cut'n'paste justice when all and sundry fire off complaints "cos it's free". Not to mention quango-style regulators that swing between industry interests and courting public opinion as they spend their marketing budgets.

Not that I wanted to rant or start a debate!!
