1 bed room flats

Me and my Partner are looking at buying at the moment and so far have just been looking at 2 bedroom houses/flats.
We have just seen a 1 bedroom flat in our perfect location, down a lovely road and at a really affordable price.
Ive always thought a 1 bedroom may be too small for us to live in, has anyone got any experience with this or advice?

Are you planning to have kids ?"An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -
kids/junk/lodger to help pay the bills/etc
all need a room.
Don't do it. Unless you're a minimalist monk with no ambition.0 -
I live in a 1 bed with my partner. No problems so far, but we don't have a lot of possessions, like hardly any furniture.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

It's affordable for a reason.
Do not touch with a bargepole.
One bedroom flats are for losers."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

rather depends upon where you live; if in London then yes a one bed flat is OK and will easily be sellable
but in many other parts of the country it may be more difficult to sell0 -
I think that a lot of people seem to be against one bedroom flats as they are less flexible. However if the price is reasonable enough it might be ok. Presumably there are a reasonably large number of people who don't want families and have few possessions. Perosnally I would try and save more for an extra bedroom or live in a worse area.0

My sister, and fiancee have got a one-bedroom apartment in central london. It was horrendously expensive, even with his well paying job. They don't want kids though, but there is a space issue, although very nice.0

It comes down to a decision on how you want to live your life. Only you can decide this.
Most folks have a PC these days, so you need somewhere for a workstation (unless you only use a laptop actually on your lap....); often the second bedroom is pressed into service as a study, ironing room, storage space etc. But this will depend on what possessions you have, and how you want to use them. Again, only you can decide.
Unless you and your partner share the same taste in music, TV and other pursuits, there'll be times that one of you will want to watch X Factor, and the other will want to listen to Chopin. A second room other than the main bedroom proves invaluable here.0 -
We have lived in a very small one bedroomed bunglow. and found no problems with it, but we have very little "stuff" no CD play, no DVD etc
The one advantage to living in such a small place is that you tend not to spend money on buying "stuff" for the house, as you have no where to put it!0 -
thanks for all your responses. I've just been to look at it and it was tiny. Told the estate agent there was no way we could live there.
Would rather pay a bit more and get 2 bed0
