I had one problem you can have is with the ariel. Cheapest option is a glass mounted ariel - basicly sticks on (noramlly get one bundled with the headset). Some get on ok with this, I didn't, wind noise & reception was pretty poor. So in the end I fitted a proper dab ariel to replace the existing car ariel, pros reception far better, cons cost more than the headset to buy & fit.

I've seen the aeials advertised. they are around £45,but i thought if he wanted one he could buy that himself!!.

did your dab plug into the original radio then?
  • I was thinking of getting one of these for my Combo van a while back but could never get an answer from Vauxhall about RCA connectors on the in car radio/cd player , so if you do get him one let us know if it's any good! ;) £99.99 inc vat and fitting.
