my probation period of 6 months has been extended by 2 months: is it legal?

yes, a probation period means practically nothing anyway, they can dismiss you upto 12 months without it being unfair dismissal unless it is discriminatory in the eyes of the law (race, sex, gender etc)The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
