Please tell others are having problems with hotmail i cant get it on at all, I am also having problems with my paypal, i used last wk but came to use today, and it keeps telling me it is wrong so i filled in that i forgot password, they said they would e-mail me but i have tried this several times and there is no e-mails from them. I have to say that is not to my hotmail addy is anybody else having problems or is it just ME.

I would look into this further. If you can't access your e-mail and PayPal, you might have issues. I don't want to worry you unneccessarily, but you should be aware that this might be urgent.

First of all, can you answer these questions?

1. Is your Hotmail address linked to your PayPal account (ie. is it your PayPal address)?
2. Does anyone else know your password(s)?
3. Does your PayPal account have a different password from your Hotmail one?
4. Presuming you use PayPal for eBay stuff, do you have any problems accessing your eBay account, or has there been any suspicious activity?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you should take further action. E-mail PayPal and eBay and ask them to reset your password, and to send you a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail account you used when you first opened your account (if possible).

Also, do Hotmail and PayPal actually have valid alternative e-mail addresses for you? If you're asking them to remind you of your password by e-mailing you at your inaccessible Hotmail account, you're going to have difficulty seeing if it's come through.

And finally, don't use the same password if at all possible, especially when it comes to eBay, PayPal and your PayPal e-mail account. There are utilities out there which allow you to securely store a password list on your PC, so there's no excuse for anyone using the same password for everything they do. Not having a go at you because I don't know if this is the case, but people should be aware that not varying passwords is almost inviting problems.

Hopefully this sorts itself out soon. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, but make sure you take the appropriate measures if any of the questions above are relevant.

Also - at the risk of sounding patronising - are you sure that Caps Lock (or Num Lock) aren't interfering when you enter your password?
