This is not correct.wouldn't inform the insurance company
He is under an obligation to inform the insurers. If he doesn't want to claim right now then make sure he tells them it's for INFO only and does not want to claim (personally I would jot down the name of the person and time/date of phone call just in case there are problems down the line).
His NCB will not be affected if he doesn't claim.
His premium may be loaded for the accident even if it's non-fault. You can find out how much by doing quotes. First with 0 claims (or relevant number) and then with 1 additional non-fault accident. This will tell you the increase.
I can see that you are fearful of this and it wasn't his fault, but unfortuantely it CANNOT be avoided as it's an obligation to tell the insurer.
If he doen't tell the insurer he risks any later claim being refused (once they find out he didn't tell them about it) then tehy might cancel his insurance and he'll have to declare cancelled insurance forever. Other companies will want to know why he's been refused and if he says "I didn't tell them something important" then that's going to be a rod for his back for the rest of his life.
So sorry, he has to tell them but make sure they understand that at this stage it's for INFO only and not a claim.
I would too look at the timetables, find out which number bus it was and go to the bus station with a camera looking for a bus with a big scrape and the matching paint and I'd do it soon before it goes off for repairs.0 -

Not necessarily.
I said MAY be loaded.
Some companies don't do this.
If you want to know for sure then you have to run the quotes.
Note if you use a comparison site then use false email and false phone number to avoid spam.
You also might want to use a false name (Mr Mickey Mouse) to avoid any identity/generic searches on your/his credit report although I don't think they are generally credit checks.0
