Aargh! Have been trying to get through to Santander on the 08459724724 number. I go through all the rigmarole, and it says 'to speak to an adviser press 9', I press 9 and it says 'I'm sorry but I do not understand your request'! Have tried several times.
Has anyone got an alternative number where you can actually speak to someone, or can anyone tell me when a transfer in to an e-saver from my nominated bank account should actually leave said account?
Thanks.

can you press another option other than nine?
(9 is an unusual choice for an auto attendant, although that's by the by)
As for transfers, can be anything between 2hrs for faster payments to several days, depending on the account and how you sent it.
An alternative number would normally be mapped to the same place, you might still have to pick the relevant department (and there might be a fault or something)0 -
Have a look at Saynoto0870, I used to have a freephone number but Im fairly sure that I got it from there.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
All the other options just put you through to an automated service. I tried pressing 4, as I also thought that 9 was odd, but just got the same response.
The money is coming out of my nominated bank account, using the online service at Santander. I know it won't show as credit at Santander for a few days, but thought it would leave my current account reasonably quickly.Always look on the bright side of life ....la la la la la la la la0 -
Hi inneed..... tthat 0845 number is listed as handling Card Services..... try 08000966954
Afreephone number listed for esavings etc is 08003899875
Try using the saynoto0870 website.... it's a mine of info in these situations!

Alternatively, keep jabbing the buttons randomly and eventually she says "Sorry, I'm having difficulty with this call, I'll just put you through to someone who can help"
Bingo a human will answer, I don't even know the options anymore I just hit the keys - she waffles on for way to long.Mortgage Balance £182,789.00 of £259,250.00 Overpayment Total £48,847.13

Thanks everyone. I eventually got through on 0800 number, which did exactly the same as the 0845 number! In the end I tried pressing every button, and it said it was having difficulty with the call, would I hold while it put me through to an advisor!!!! Yes! Result!
Anyway the advisor told me I should speak to my nominated bank. I said that I had done the transaction through them, so surely they should check that it was going through, but he just told me when I had l previously made a transaction, (well thanks - I know that), and said that I should talk to Barclays.
He also informed me that once you have nominated a bank account you can't change it. Me - in astonishment said, so, if I have a nominated account, and close that bank account, I can't nominate another? Answer no. Apparently you have to close your Santander account too, and open another, linked to your new nominated account. I haven't changed my nominated account, but that seems a bit of a palaver to me.
So now I've got to contact Barclays, to see if they can shed any light on the subject.Always look on the bright side of life ....la la la la la la la la0 -

From memory, I think it used to take about 3 banking days for the money to move from the nominated account, having set the transaction up on the Santander site.0 -
