New Cash ISA

I opened a new cash ISA savings account with Santander on 31/3/2011 but haven't paid any cash into the account yet as I have only just received the account details. When I pay money into this account is it using the allowance for the tax year 6/4/2010 - 5/4/2011 or the 2011-2012 tax year?

2011-2012 - it is when you pay in the money that counts.0

It will come from the current tax year's allowance. When the account was opened is irrelevant.0
