Wallrock or Sempatap Wall Insulation

I'm currently looking at re-decorating a room in the house that has suffered from mould in the past and as the property has solid walls, i'd like to use the opportunity to provide some insulation, and hopefully prevent the mould returning on this north facing room.
Two products I've heard about are Wallrock (£51/roll from B&Q) and Sempatap (about £160 a roll). I know the wallrock paper is 4mm thick and the Sempatap is 10mm.
Has anyone had any experiences with both of these and if so, which one out of the two would you recommend (or any others), both in tearms of performance, and value for money.
Thanks for your help!

If you've got the space, you'd be far better of dry-lining with Kingspan. These rolls are not particularly effective and make your walls all squishy!0

Hi Nordberg,
Thanks for the tip, but the room is really only a box room, so space is a premium. It's going to be used for our young daughters bedroom, so I wanted to reduce the risk of mould and help insulate without reducing what little space shes got.0 -
I've got exactly the same problem. Our daughter's current room is a 8ft x 10ft and it's got two outside walls and a very large window. The previous owners put up some Sempatap but it's terrible. The walls are covered in little bumps where DD has leant on it or pushed a toy against it. During the winter, even with the oversized radiator we put in, we struggled to warm it up and it never stayed warm. We have no cavity so no chance of cavity wall insulation. I looked into it a bit more and when we redecorate in the summer, I will take all plaster off the long outside wall and get something like Gyproc Super Thermaline or Kingspan with dry lining installed. Yes, I stand to lose a couple of inches of room space, but it will definitely be worth it.0

Hi.
I used the Wallrock stuff on my bedroom walls last christmas. The 2 outside walls are north(ish) facing and, although cavity walled, are very cold. The difference I have seen in my property (single bed maisonette) is that the temperature in the house does not drop any where near as much at night. As far as I am concerned, the Wallrock works and was worth paying out for. I only did the outside walls of the room, and with a little patching behind the radiator, I only needed 2 rolls. It does compress slightly but so far it hasn't suffered any damage from knocks. The outer paper is quite thick and robust.
It is worth noting, you can send off for a free (rather small) sample from Wallrock which will give you an idea of how tough it will be. When I did this, I got a 5% off code and their price is cheaper than B & Q.0 -
nordberg, I take your point about decorating a childs room with it, when they will be pushing toys etc against it.
FLA27, good idea to send off for a sample, especially if it will save me money. I take it they sell direct then, as there is no mention of it on their website?
Anyone else had any experience with either product?0 -

Apologies. I have just checked. It was coveryourwall.co.uk that I bought mine from. Good service apart from UPS delivery people who clearly cannot read! Well worth asking for a sample. They do samples for other stuff as well.0
