Do hope the old lady doesn't rent from the council, surely subletting and then trying to claim HB won't be allowed.
It sounds like it's not rent she's charging but being a family friend it's what i'd call keep if it's £50 all in and depending on your wage there could be non-dependant deductions to consider.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
