Sncf (french Railway)/eurostar

They story begins;

My mother purchased me a ticket to return from France over the internet - I went to pick up the ticket from the train station in France a few days before depature only to be told I couldnt have the ticket because I didnt have the card used to purchase the ticket!
I had to purchase another to return home and was told I could get a refund of the first ticket through the www.voyages-sncf.comwebsite.

BUT! the website cancellation page wasnt working and I couldnt cancel the first ticket. The day of departure passed (I tried everyday up until the day of departure to cancel) so my Dad got in contact with Rail Europe in the Uk and they told him to email sncf direct - he did - twice! no response. I went back to France a week later and went to the station - they gave me a form to fill in blah blah - I filled it in, took it back - it wasnt complete! completed it and then took it back again!

Anyway; it finally taken and sent off for processing. I recieved a letter today saying they will not refund me as 61 days has passed from the purchase date!

After all that!!! What the hell am I supposed to do now! No one told me there was a 61 day time limit, nor does it say so when I looked on the website, nor did Rail Europe tell my Dad.

So basically, my mum is out of pocket €145, im out of pocket €125 as I had to pay for the other ticket, I hate Sncf/Rail Europe, and what can I do?!

    Well, the 61 day delay is their fault, because their website did not work and because they did not respond to your emails. So print off the emails you sent (including the complete headers) and try to contact someone senior within SNCF, perhaps by visiting your nearest railway station (if you are in France right now) and see what contact details they can give you.
