can i add someone elses credit card to my paypal?

as title states really.

Just a bot of background, incase anyone can think of another way around it if we can do the above.

My parents want to make their 1st ebay purchase and needs to pay via paypal. Dads tried to set a paypal account up, but the item is quite expensive and it is saying they need to verify the details via the bank which will take upto 5 working days (not too sure about what the actuall meassage was as i wasnt present at the time) Anyway, seller requires immediate payment and they need the goods for a present to give on saturday, so not enough time to wait the 5 days.

Usually i would simply buy on my account and recoup the money at a later date, but it is a sizeable (for me) sum of money that i dont have in order to do this, so could i add mums credit card to my paypal account and do it that way?

Unlikely as you cannot verify it is your card.

I just added one yesterday. It said it had to be the same address as the Paypal account holder and there was no option to change that.

thanks, added it (at diff adddress - gave the option to add another billing address) and payment has gone through.
Must remember to dleete it again now, or else mum and dad will be paying for all the kids ebay tat purchases
