Do i have any rights? 2nd Hand Car.

Hi,

If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

I purchased a car - Seat Leon Cupra - (£2.5k) at a nearby used car garage. I started looking in early December and saw this car. I was told that is was having the turbo replaced and would be fine later in the month. I was busy over christmas but bought the car mid January after test driving it.

Last week i noticed a leak below the bumper from right and put it into my local garage for them to have a look at it. They now tell me there is a serious problem with the turbo and it needs replaced at a cost of about £800 including labour.

I now realise that this must just have been patched up to sell to me and i have fallen for it.

Does anybody know if I have any rights in this situation?

thanks in advance...

Alan.

did the garage you bought it from tell you it was fitting a new turbo or just changing the turbo? they may have fitted a second hand one from the scrappy.

They told me there was a problem with the turbo and it was being fixed. When the car was put back out on the court for sale I was told that the problem was fixed.

Since they told you the problem was sorted and it was less than 3 months ago you bought the car i think you should go back and see what they are willing to do for you, i would presume a £2500 car would be expected to last more than 3 months. If it was me i wouldnt leave the garage until i got a result.
